Dear all,

A wonderful music Autumn lies ahead of you with CIME, but first a quick round-up of summer achievements..

  • Our summer jazz festival was a fantastic celebration of music, clients and CIME community and we hope to repeat this event annually. Next time, bigger and better!
  • Some clients took exams throughout the summer in theory and performance- well done to you all on passing!
  • CIME started its 12-18 month plan for business development in July and will be sharing its achievements and plans with you in due course. Your Director, Rhiannon, has also embarked on personal development plans and she will also be sharing her achievements and plans with you.

Now to CIME’s Autumn plans…

  • 28 clients are lined up to take exams between September and December. Your work through the summer has shown total commitment to learning and you will all do very well. Good luck and work hard.
  • OCTOBER spooky lessons- some ideas for halloween have been suggested by clients including the use of nursery rhymes in minor keys (spooky sounding), changing a piece they are currently learning into a minor key or learning the music of Tim Burton films (such as the Nightmare before Christmas). Fancy dress on halloween week is encouraged to add to the fun of lessons. It will be spooktacular!
  • CHRISTMAS Carol writing competition. This year, CIME is launching its Christmas carol writing competition for clients. We will work on this during your lessons. Entry is free. There will be one overall winner who will win the title of ‘CIME CHRISTMAS CAROL COMPOSER OF THE YEAR 2021’ and two runners up. All three carols will be kept on file and added to next years CIME Christmas Carol book which will be available to buy.
  • We practice once a month on Tuesday evenings 7.50pm-9pm. Membership is £5 a session to include drink and nibbles. If you are a clarinettist/bass clarinettist, please feel free to join us for practices. We are a friendly small group and anyone who can read music is welcome. All abilities.

**** We will be having a Windband Christmas livestream practice/concert on Tuesday 14th December at 8pm for CIME clients & followers to tune into.****

As you can see, we have lots to do and CIME is looking forward to our achievments over the next 3 months!

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO DIARY/DATES.

  • It is with regret that CIME has decided not to go ahead with further planning for a big Christmas party this year, which was to be held at Cottingham Parks on 18th December, but instead, we will get festive in our individual December lessons.
  • Lessons will finish for Christmas holidays on Friday 17th Dec, and resume on Monday 10th
