Director Rhiannon relishes playing, learning and teaching music creatively.
She was first introduced to music by a family friend, and world famous triple harpist, Robin Huw Bowen. Robin taught her Welsh folk tunes and Welsh gypsy music. Then at age 5, Rhiannon was given her first keyboard and her musical journey began.
A classically trained and qualified pianist and clarinetist, Rhiannon loved studying music with her private tutors. Her piano and vocal tutor invoked an interest in musicals and performance. Furthermore, her clarinet tutor passed on his renowned classical training, from his time at the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
Rhiannon gained opportunities to join orchestras, jazz bands, woodwind groups and choirs. She toured Austria and Bavaria as part of an orchestra. As well as touring, she played at local authority events and weddings in a jazz band. Due to her performance training, Rhiannon also worked on the set of the Lion King, on Broadway in New York.
Finally deciding to give others her knowledge, Rhiannon started to teach music over 10 years ago in amongst other creative pursuits. This has given her the pleasure of observing the outcome of her teaching in clients loves, passion and learning in music whilst CIME continues to develop.
Rhiannon loves learning and is committed to her musical vocation. She works on a number of projects, training and research alongside teaching to make sure she can provide excellent musical teaching. She has a collection of musical instruments including those she tutors on but also electric guitars, accordions, kalimbas & is looking to acquire a pump organ this year! She is a member of the Music Education Council. Most recently, in 2022, Rhiannon added an additional ABRSM Grade 8 piano performance exam to her list of successes and believes moving with the times mixed with creativity & traditional teaching and examining methods are the way forward.
She is currently composing some winter songs and carols that she hopes to release in 2024.
Rhiannon is starting training with the ABRSM in the near future to become a professional UK music examiner.

Since in-person lessons were not possible, the online provision that CIME has provided my son has been great. He enjoys the lessons and Rhiannon adapts her style to support his way of learning. Highly recommend!
