Music Tutor
Drums
(B.Eng Hons, Guildhall Grade 8 Drum kit with honours, A-level Music)
Drumming has been Paul’s main passion since he was 7 years old and has been his full-time profession since he finished university. He’s 35 now and still loves it! He’s performed with many professional bands and ensembles in a wide variety of styles and his specialities include rock, metal, drum & bass, electronic dance music, jazz, funk, blues, reggae, dub, afrobeat and pop. He’s also heavily involved in Hull’s music scene and will be headlining this year’s Humber Street Sesh with Endoflevelbaddie.
“I think that the most important thing for developing as a drummer is to enjoy drumming, so as a tutor my priority is to find ways of working with each student on things that are relevant to their personal goals in a way they find enjoyable. It’s easy to stay motivated when practicing is fun and you can see yourself getting closer to reaching your goals. Learning drums can enrich people’s lives in ways that go far beyond music and it’s an honour to be part of this process, so I’m grateful to be joining the CIME team and working creatively and professionally with CIME clients.”
His experience means that in addition to helping students to learn to play the drums, he can help them understand how to excel as a member of a band/ensemble and even how to turn it into a profession. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or you’re already an advanced drummer, he can help take your drumming to the next level.

Paul is an excellent teacher. He is interested in what I want to achieve. His guidance is a perfect balance of patience and enthusiasm. I feel at ease and also challenged with what Paul sets out for me to learn each session. He uses a variety of teaching techniques that always keeps it interesting.
I joined CIME as a last effort before I gave up. I’ve been playing many instruments over the years including the guitar and the harmonica, but I never remain consistent. Paul helped me stay interested and now I feel like I want to keep drumming as a permanent hobby. Paul and CIME are friendly, informative and passionate which is all a seasoned on-and-offer like me needs. I’d recommend CIME to anyone.
