Special Educational Needs and Disability

Experience and care

Rhiannon has plenty of experience working with children, and adults, with additional needs and is able to adapt her teaching style to your needs.  Please ask for Rhiannon if you or your child has additional needs.

She is the first teacher that I have ever met that listened to a brief explanation of my daughter's needs, and completely got it and embedded them into each lesson. Rhi is patient, fun-loving, reassuring and ambitious for my daughter. She listens to her and is intuitive to her needs whilst boosting her confidence at the same time as offering her a challenge in a way my daughter accepts it rather than runs crying from it. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

New and fantastic

A huge thanks to CIME and our lovely piano teacher Havva. Thanks for the patience with my son, who is autistic, and with myself, who has never touched a piano before! We both loved our lessons and we’re looking forward to attending our 2nd session next week.

patience and creativity

Rhiannon has shown great patience,  creativity and diligence

Rhiannon has supported my daughter for just over a year via online sessions on Zoom.

She was a complete beginner when she started but had always wanted to play the piano but had always been a bit concerned about having piano lessons as she has a disability that affects her memory and dexterity. Rhiannon has shown great patience, creativity and diligence in finding ways to teach my daughter often sources pieces of music to match her interest and strengths. Rhiannon always has sessions that are interactive, fun, and keeps her engaged (a skill in itself) whilst ensuring it builds her confidence, not only on the piano but herself.

Rhiannon is lead by my daughter (who doesn't want to go through the grading system as this causes had too much anxiety) who wants to learn pieces relevant to her and get family. Rhiannon has identified her strengths and praises them regularly and uses those to build on the areas my daughter needs to develop.

She is a holistic and inclusive teacher that recognises the potential in her students and nurtures it with kindness and empathy.

This approach is very important to me as a specialist in disability support.
